peter's square, cheering pope benedict. he will resign on thursday and the campaign to find a successor -- well, that seemed underway. monsignor james asanti is the pastor of our lady of lords from new york. always good to see you. good morning on this sunday morning. >> good to be with you again, eric. >> eric: what do you think will be guiding the cardinal and the conclave next month in terms of possible candidate snitches it is interesting to watch what has happened. when he first resigned, we loved that he had the courage to say, i can't do there and to celebrate him for being forward thinking and generous. now, since then, there has been a lot of activity to criticize what was not right with pope ben difnlght he wasn't a good administrator and should have been toughing on the finances of the vatican and all of that will be considered by the cardinals. they see the critical evaluation of the reign of the pope and they will be looking for a candidate who can turn that around and make the vatican more transparent and end
